The West Kootenay Cycling Coalition is hosting a free, family-friendly, all ages Bike Rave & Ride on Friday June 5 as a part of GoByBike Week across BC โ and youโre invited to roll, glow, dance, and ride with us from (and back to) Cottonwood Falls Park!
You may ask – what is a BIKE RAVE? Thinkโฆ a neon-bright, music-powered, mobile street party where cyclists turn the city into a moving dance floor. Colourful lights, creative costumes, glowing bikes, and a whole lot of community fun.
5:00โ6:00 PM โ Registration: Check in at Cottonwood Falls Park to grab your event armband. All ages welcome, itโs totally free, and weโll have free swag to giveaway throughout the duration of the event!
6:00โ7:00 PM โ Group Ride: We roll out together at 6 PM and return by 7 PM. Route + pit stop(s) announced soon.
7:00โ10:00 PM โ Bike Rave in the Park: The party continues back at Cottonwood with:

โข Dancing, lights, and a glowing park vibe
โข A bike obstacle course
โข Photo booth

A City of Nelson representative (and Project 529 admin) will be on site offering free bike registration into the Project 529 theft prevention system โ a community driven digital registry that helps reduce theft and recover stolen bikes.
Weโll be collecting BIKE BINGO cards (pick yours up from a local bike shop or at City Hall) at this event before the draw the following evening at the Bike BBQ Campout to win a Bike tune-up valued at $200 at a local bike shop of your choice in the West Kootenays.

This event is free, family friendly, and open to riders of all ages and abilities. Whether youโre a daily commuter, a weekend cruiser, or an extreme mountain biker โ we encourage you to come join the ride.
